Mother's Day

Chantel didn't get breakfast in bed, but she couldn't wake them! They are so cute! Jared came in at 5:30 and climbed into bed and here is how he and Vern stretched out when she got up.

She did however get some very sharp dressed men for Mother's Day

And

Weird as it may sound...the sweetest gift she has ever received! A Barbie.

Okay, the story behind this is:
When she was little, Chantel, her sister and Dad were getting off a bus (remember she grew up in LA, Calif) and as they got off she dropped her favorite Barbie doll. She thinks she was about 6. The Barbie fell under the bus tire and as her dad grabbed her from getting it, the bus pulled off and crushed her doll. It was pouring rain, and right after that a car drove by and splashed all three of them....which she wouldn't remember except the trauma of lossing Barbie stayed with her *grin*.

She told Vern this story after watching Pursuit of Happyness one night (there is a similar scene in there) and he remembered. For Mother's Day he wrote her a wonderful letter and gave her this cherished gift!

Spring Is Here!

We are so happy that it is no longer -12 degrees! For most people 40's and 50's would not seem warm, but for us it is about heaven------unless it is 57 with a 40 mile an hour wind....then it gets a bit cold again!
