Cyrus in Concert

Cyrus played in the Spring Band Concert at the Highschool. He did a really great job, and doing wonderfully in band. We all had a good time at the concert, and then went for ice cream afterward at Dairy Queen.

Water, Water Everywhere

The Spring thaw has brought flooding. At this time, our river has crested at 22.2 inches, 3.2 inches above flood stage, which is 19.0 inches.
The first, third and fourth pictures are the Des Moines River. It runs through Windom, and we live just about a block from the river. It has run over both sides of its banks.

This second picture shows water in a field. There is not supposed to be water here, and yet you would think it is a lake.

In the last picture; see that bank of trees in the foreground, those trees are supposed to be on dry land. See that bank of trees far off in the background? That is the river, it runs through those trees. The rest should be dry...

Spring Sun

The sun finally came out after 12 days of fog, mist, and rain. We couldn't help ourselves. So with snow milting all around us, we went outside to bask in the sun.

Bowling for Dates

For Cyrus' date this time he wanted to go bowling. The girls were spending the week at Ginger's house, so we made it a family bowling date and took Jared along. Vern taught the boys how to score and tried to tech them his bowling prowess! We had a lot of fun.

Fog and Rain, or is it Rain and Fog

We have spent the last four days in fog and rain. Thick fog. Spring has brought mud and dreariness.

Minnesota River Valley

Chantel had to go up to Morton, Minnesota for a clinical day at Indian Health Services on the Lower Sioux. Morton sits right off the Minnesota River, in the valley it has created and is extremely beautiful, even in the winter.

Lest Ye Think The Snow Has Gone

Sure, we have had some 30 degree days, even a couple of 40 degree days, and yet there is still snow!

We ARE starting to see ground/dirt...something we have not seen since October, if you can believe that.
And of course, with the warmer weather, and the melting snow comes the ice.

One of the four seasons of Minnesota. Snow, Ice, Construction, and Deer. I would say that Minnesota is the only place where all four seasons can coincide together at one time.

Student Lunch

Our friend Josephine, her two little people and Edna came over for dinner one Saturday afternoon. Josephine is also a nursing student in the ADN program, and she and Chantel carpool together.

The group picture has Victoria, Cody, Edna, Chantel, Jared, Chacha, and Sister (who have names...but this is what we call them). Josephine calls Chantel Auntie to the kids....which she loves, of course. A couple of weeks ago, Chacha came over and played in the snow with the boys.

The bottom picture is Josephine and the kids.

The kids painted murals for art.
Cody painted the dinosaur mural.
Jared painted the rainbow mural, and Cody added the fairy.
