Mom Takes a Trip
Friday night, while Victoria was at the Young Single Adult Conference in Sioux Falls, Mom and Dad took Cody, Cyrus, and Jared to dinner and a movie.
We went to the best China Restaurant in SW Minnesota located in St. James, MN.
Yum..Yum...Yum!
We then went to The Princess Theater to watch How To Train a Dragon. We were a little late, the movie had started already, and the theater was dark already.
While trying to find a place to sit, Mom misstepped and fell down a stair. Fell is actually a nice term for the mass of crumpled mom that everyone turned to find laying on the ground in intense pain.
She thought she broke her ankle. The theater wanted to call 911, but Mom refused. She actually said, "I'm a nurse, I can wiggle my toes, I'm fine."
She asked Dad to get her some ice, propped her foot up and watched the movie with everyone. After the movie, Dad took Mom to the ED, and dropped the kids off at home.
Mom had an Xray of her ankle which showed that it was NOT broken. What a blessing. However, it is sprained with a 2nd degree sprain. She is supposed to stay off it, keep it wrapped, iced, and wear the aircast until she sees her doctor next week.
What an ordeal!

Racquetball Anyone???
The kids participated in a racquetball clinic this spring for a homeschool PE activity. The highlight was participation in a community racquetball tournament for all area students grades 3-12 as a fundraiser for Riverfest.
The kids participated in a 6 round tournament (each player played each player one time, for a total of 6 games each). They were tired by the time the end of the tournament came around, but all were good sports and pressed on.
Cyrus won a racket and eye wear for coming in 2nd place. Jared and Zadok (the smallest boy the in middle) tied for 3rd place. Each player got two t-shirts, racquetballs, a cup, a big candy bar, posters, and dinner for coming to the tournament.
They all did a fabulous job!!!
